Endstops and stepping

Attached X and Y endstops, mechanical switches for now, wiring was trivial.

My X axis does 5000 steps to travel 12 cm with small 8 tooth pulley.  That's 0.025mm per step not 1/4 of a millimeter but 1/40th, no wonder it's slow.  I will change microstepping from 1/16 to 1/2 to gain x8 speed and still keep the resolution at 0.2 mm.

Meanwhile i wonder if my UBW has enough pins for everything.

One spare pin left which can be used to power off the stepper drivers for example.

Got the Z axis going

Finally got the Z axis working, looks like 2 stepper drivers i got are busted.  Either defective or I fried them, one is completely silent, the other gives the motors a twitch with gets more violent with more current.
Made a simple GUI to control the motors.  The motion is quite slow probably due to throughput limitations of UBW, i may switch the steppers from from 1/16th to 1/8th or even a 4th and go to more toothy pulleys.

Next thing to mount and test the end stops.

Exruder meets the chassis






To my surprise i found out that pulleys have different number of teeth, x and Z axis use pulleys with 8 teeth. Extruder uses one with 12, and my sets includes couple more 10 toothed pulleys just to make things more confusing. I could probably switch to those if i want little bit more speed.
Wires are too short for the Y axis motors, and they need extension. Same with extruder motor. Nothing that can't be fixed with little solder.
